About me
Before being a profession, climbing is a passion that has driven me for many years.
Here, I share my journey, my approach to guiding, and what I love to pass on through each outing.
From climber to instructor: a journey of transmission
My name is Romain, and I’m a state-certified climbing instructor.
I’ve been working in this profession for two years, but my passion for climbing goes back much further.
I discovered climbing as a teenager, on the cliffs of Chamonix. Since then, it has never left me.
After several years of personal practice and active involvement with the Club Alpin Français d’Aix-en-Provence, I naturally chose to pass on this passion — first as a volunteer instructor, then by training to make it my profession.
Today, I hold the DEJEPS Rock Climbing in Natural Environments, a French state diploma that allows me to guide outings for all levels in single-pitch climbing, multi-pitch routes, via cordata and via ferrata.

« Climbing a rock face opens the way to full awareness of emotion, mind, and movement. Absolute presence in the here and now. »
A sensitive, human-centered, and embodied approach
For me, climbing is much more than a sport.
👉 It’s a philosophy of life: it teaches humility, patience, discipline, a connection to nature — and also trust, in yourself and in others.

I favour a simple, authentic approach, so you can experience something real, in confidence, within the vertical world.
I place great importance on the quality of the guidance I provide:
✅ Teaching, to pass on solid foundations
✅ Listening and adaptability, because everyone progresses at their own pace
✅ Respect for the natural environment, which I’m deeply committed to helping people discover and appreciate.
What I love most about my work
Working a route, searching for the right body positions, the rhythm, points of balance, the fluidity of movement. I love the technical side as much as the beauty of the motion. And I have a particular passion for multi-pitch routes — more committed lines that combine effort, silence, adventure, and contemplation.
Spending several hours suspended between sky and rock, with the sea or the mountains as a backdrop, is a unique experience — one I truly want to share.

A project, an idea, a question?
👉 I always take the time to talk things through before each outing.

“A great day spent with Romain on a multi-pitch outing in the Calanques. Very clear and pedagogical when it comes to the different progression and belaying techniques. I had complete confidence throughout.”

“We heard about Romain and contacted him to guide us along the Vire des Écureuils.
He is a patient, attentive person.
I was really uncomfortable on some sections, and he was able to reassure me. I highly recommend him.”
